Meizu M5S Spotted Online

Meizu, the Chinese consumer electronics company based in Zhuhai, Guangdong, has managed to clear a new smartphone with TENAA, the Chinese certification service. Two devices have been listed: the M612Q and the M612M. The catch is that both the models submitted for certification are exactly the same. We believe that these models are the Meizu M5S.

As per the specs mentioned on TENAA, both the models feature a 5.2 inch HD IPS display, that has a resolution of 720x1280 pixles and comes powered by an Octa-core processor, clocked at 1.3 GHz.

The handsets have been tipped in three different variants, the first being a 2GB RAM version with 16GB storage, second being a 3GB RAM version with 32GB internal storage and third being a 4GB RAM version with 64GB internal storage.
All the phones will feature expandable storage facility of up to 128GB using a microSD card.

Both the phones are likely to feature a 13 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash at the back, whereas on the front would be a 5 Megapixel front facing sensor, for making video calls or capturing selfies. The handsets measure 148.2 × 72.53 × 8.4 mm in terms of dimensions and weigh 138 grams, while powering the devices is a 2930mAh battery.

The phones will run on Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow  Based operating system and will come in colour options of Silver, gray, gold and Rose Gold.

No official launch date is forthcoming but it can be expected that Meizu will to unveil the device soon, possibly at the CES 2017 event in January 2017. The CES will start on January 5 and go on until the 8th. 2016 has been a good year for Meizu as devices like the Meizu M3X, Meizu PRO 6 Plus and the Meizu M5 Note have been launched in the last few months alone.
